Police officers catching vehicles disposing of waste illegally or without a license have made a successful haul in Bexley and Darent this week.
Police in Bexley and Lewisham joined council officials and the Government’s Environment Agency for the operation, targeting waste vehicles on the roadside in Darent, north Kent.
The sting saw 22 vehicles stopped and four fixed penalty notices issued, and one vehicle was actually seized.
People or businesses who transport, buy, sell or dispose of waste, or arrange for someone else to do so, must be legally registered to do so, or may risk the wrath of the Environmental Agency or police.
The Environment Agency’s South East team tweeted out after the operation, advising people to check your waste carrier was registered here.
