Man dies after being hit by van walking on A2 near Gravesend

A man has died after being hit by a van as he walked along the side of the A2 near Gravesend on Monday (August 17).

The unnamed 20-year-old was walking along the side of the Londonbound A2 by the Gravesend slip road when he was involved in a collision.

Kent Police say he was hit by a white Vauxhall Movano van at 11.25pm on Monday, 17 August 2020.

Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance service rushed to the scene and the man was confirmed deceased.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to help their investigation into the fatal collision.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) say they would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the man or the vehicle in the moments before the collision.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage which might assist enquiries.
